Entry from: Sydney, Australia Entry Title: “Things To Do In Sydney When It Rains” Entry: “I was really looking forward to Sydney, it’s one of those iconic cities of the world and one that so many people talk about. We arrived there on an overcast evening and booked into our hostel in an area called Kings Cross. We didn’t choose this area on purpose but it turns out that Kings Cross is the red light district and also after an hour I worked out it was also weirdo central after spotting 3 people wandering around talking to themselves and seeing a woman get smacked in the face in McDonalds – hmnnn interesting place I thought! I didn’t do too much the first night except check a few bars out before hitting the sack. I then found out negative side number one about our hostel – no air conditioning or fans so the windows had to be left open all night to control the humidity. Negative point number 2 – a busker likes to play his set underneath our open window and starts at approx 12 midnight and carries on till 4 or 5 in the morning. Across the road there was an open fronted pub from which the punters would shout requests to the busker until the early hours of the morning. With two more night booked at this hostel I decided I was definitely going to need some help from Mr Jack Daniels and Mr Johnny Walker to get
